Community Action Group- Weekly Update
I hope you are all well and keeping safe at this difficult time.
St Clears Town Council has acted quickly to set up a Community Action Group offering assistance to local residents and we are pleased that after some frantic planning and preparation that we are now functioning well.
We have the assistance of County Councillor Phillip Hughes, many Town Councillors and an ever- growing group of volunteers who together, are shopping for and delivering groceries and medication and meeting the needs of people who are in need or not in a position to get out.
We aim to assist you in keeping safe and that is by limiting the amount of time you need to spend out of your home or if you are totally self-isolating, offering all the assistance we can to ease the disruption this brings.
It is vitally important to ‘shield’ yourself from the problems in the outside world at present and we will work with you to ensure that if you need to stay in your homes that your needs are catered for.
Over the past week we have completed numerous medication deliveries from local pharmacies and delivered many grocery orders from the local shops.
This website is new, and it is your website and we urge you to view it regularly for updates as to what is happening in the area and to keep you up to date in terms of local facilities and assistance.
Please feel free to contact us with anything you require to make this time as comfortable as possible. We will strive to be here for all of you throughout this time and even if you only want to chat, we can do that for you.
There is a section on the website entitled ‘Raising your Spirits’ and this is aimed at bringing the whole community together. We want to hear from you and if you have a story to tell or something to share then this is an ideal platform to publish those messages.
We aim to update you as often as we can and please use our assistance.
