I am aware of the strong local feelings regarding the temporary closure of the Peillac Way footpath and wish to offer some clarity around this subject.
The decision was made to close the path due to its dangerous condition, which has since deteriorated due to recent high tides.
The decision, ongoing surveys and plans for work, is entirely the responsibility of the County Council and not the Town Council.
As a Town Council, we are striving to maintain communications with the County Council as to work and timescales and will endeavour to publish such updates on the St. Clears Town Council website.
Please be assured, that we too wish to see the safe reopening of the footpath, which is used and enjoyed by many and will pass on your concerns and drive this forward with further liaison with the County Council.
Ian Richards
St. Clears Town Mayor
